Brian Riggan, PE, Owner
Brian has been in the electrical engineering industry for over 21 years and loves working in Alaska. He is a leader in dealing with the challenging Arctic conditions of Alaska, an expert when it comes to energy efficiency, able to implement cost effective solutions, and work in remote locations stretching from the North Slope of Alaska, across the interior down the Panhandle and reaching as far across to the end of the Aleutian Chain. Brian has even worked on projects in the Lower 48 as well as the other end of the globe at the South Pole.
Growing up in Fairbanks Alaska, Brian got his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Alaska in 1996. He has worked for two other engineering firms in Alaska, working his way up to Senior Electrical Engineer before starting BR Engineering in 2018.
Brian is experienced in project management, electrical engineering designs, engineering specifications, site investigations, construction observations, and reviewing electrical project submittals. Brian's list of previous projects include laboratories, airports, hospitals, clinics, power plants, fueling systems, schools, libraries, office buildings, retail spaces, hospitality, maintenance facilities, fabrication shops, energy audits, and site assessments. Brian provides challenging lighting and power designs, energy analysis, code studies, as well as fire alarm and fire detection systems for a wide variety of facilities. Brian’s goal is to improve the built electrical environment by increasing energy efficiency, ensuring life safety requirements are met, and providing cost-effective solutions that exceed the Owner's expectations.
